My name is Maja Bilušić and I am a professional tour guide, with a licence for North-western Croatia, which includes the city of Varaždin, as well as the Međimurje and Zagorje region. I am 39 years old, but at least ten years younger in my heart.

I love my job. I love to move around the hidden corners of these charming parts of the country. One of my favourite things is talking with people and listening to their stories, which paint an amazing picture of life and world. In addition to the written word, I enjoy in the word of mouth, through which we can, with a basis in historical facts, find out about the history’s gossip, in other words legends and myths. I love to tell stories and legends, because history itself can sometimes become a little boring, and those stories are what give it the liveliness because of which we sometimes start to believe in things that seem impossible. Did you know a dragon lies just beneath the city of Varaždin? You didn't know? Well, let me show it to you. ;)

When it comes to my job, I love to work with smaller groups of people, because in that way I can completely devote myself to them, as well as adapt to their desires and interests. It's very important to me, for my guests to feel the place they visit. I feel the happiest when I can awake the traveller inside the tourist and when I can contribute to the transformation which inevitably happens on every journey we take. I travel even when I'm staying here. I travel with my heart and soul and in the same way I await for my guests. Welcome to Croatia! :)
