Oriental Sports Center
The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, also known as the Shanghai Aquatic Sports Center, is a sports venue that was completed by late 2010. Designed by German architecture firm GMP, the Center has an indoor arena holding 18,000, an indoor swimming pool seating 5,000 and an outdoor swimming pool also seating 5,000.
The Center is close to Huangpu River, next to the previous Expo Park in Pudong New Area. Its facilities sit on a man-made lake that supplies the water for the arenas in a self-purifying circulation.
The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center is going to host the 14th World Aquatics Championships from July 16-31, 2011.
