Baiyun Mountain

Located in the northeast of Guangzhou, Baiyun Mountain has an area of 20.98 ㎡. Its highest peak, Moxing Ridge, is 382 meters (1253 ft) in height. Baiyun Mountain is reputed as the First Spectacular Scene of Guangzhou. You can view the whole Guangzhou city from the top of the mountain.

The mountain was named Baiyun (White Cloud) Mountain because of White cloud flying over Baiyuan Mountain, and gathering around its base. The whole scenic area is a resort. It has 7 tourist zones from south to north, namely Luhu Park, Santailing Park, Bird Spring Valley Park (Mingchun Valley), Moxing Ridge, Bright Pearl Building Park, Fei'eling Park and the San tailing Summit Park. There are 3 top scapes in the areas; Yuntai Garden, located in Santailing Park, is the largest landscape garden in China; Bird Spring Valley Park is the biggest natural birdcage in the country and Sculpture Park located in Fei-eling is the biggest sculpture theme park in China.

Baiyun Mountain has been well-known long before. During the Warring States Period, many celebrities visited this mountain. In Jin Dynasty, the mountain presented a lot of attractive landscapes. In Tang Dynasty, it was a famous scenic spot. Several scenes of Baiyun Mountain have been put on the listing of “Eight Famous Scenic Attractions of Guangzhou” since Song Dynasty. Guangzhou people always like going to this mountain for sightseeing. Many celebrities in history and at the present time once visited it.
Since the reform and opening up policy was carried out, some new fascinating scenic spots, e.g. Mingchun Valley, Guangzhou Forest of Steles, Nengren Temple, Yuntai Garden, Sculpture Park, and Peach Blossom Ravine, etc., have been put up. Baiyun Mountain(by Round-Trip Cable Car) - Flower City Square - Litchi Bay - Shamian Island -Beijing Road

At 9 A.M. the guide will pick you up from the hotel and start off the day drip. Around 9:30 A.M. the cable car would take you up the greenery-covered Baiyun Mountain, letting the fresh morning breeze slide past your temples! You must like such a beginning, but you’ll like the next more. It’s a magical salad from which your taste bud would alter between fashion and tradition, Oriental and Western, tranquility and prosperity.

Standing on Flower City Square, you’ll be encircled by the newest city landmarks such as Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou library, West Tower and Haixinsha Asian Games Park. Guangzhou has been totally renovated even beyond your imagination, which you’ll sense stronger in the following destination Litchi Bay. Lighting up your eyes are the green river, the exquisitely decorative boats, the riverside Xiguan-style Arcade Houses, the above-the river theater, decorative lighting themed on old Cantonese daily life.

1 hour later let’s taste a European taste on.Shamian Island! The over 150 varied Western-fashion buildings show a rich range of European style, say, New Baroque, Gothic, voucher gallery, Neo-classical. Only in culture-generous Guangzhou can you find such a coexistence of sharply different looks within such a short distance. Spend 1 hour or so on Shamian and leave for the last stop Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. The shopping paradise has already been ablaze with festive red lanterns. Just enjoy it! BTW: don’t forget the Relic of Millennium-old Pavements at the entrance of the time-honored street!
