Delightfully comfortable! Sam is amazing. Her English was great and we loved her sense of humor. She instantly bonded with our 10 year old son. She helped us navigate our way with all forms of public transportation to the sites of our choice (with her awesome input). We were in contact by email weeks before we arrived. We told her what we were looking for and things we wanted to experience. Of course, we asked for her own personal input as well. She planned our itinerary for us and worked with our schedule and needs. She met us each morning at our hotel and made sure we made it back to our hotel each evening. She allowed us to experience the culture with the security of her language skills! We valued and appreciated her honesty when we asked questions about what we saw, things we experienced, etc. She also helped us get our bullet train tickets a day in advance so we wouldn't have to worry about getting those at the station to go to Shanghai. I think it's important to mention that Sam felt like a part of our family, not someone we had never met before. Also, our son asked when we arrived in Shanghai, "Is Sam meeting us here at our hotel?" He was so disappointed to learn that we only got to spend time with her in Nanjing. She is so good that we will be back and we will use her again. What a blessing she is!

Many thanks to Samantha for making our first family vacation in China a great one. We just recently moved to Shanghai and with a few days off for a national holiday, were ready to start exploring this country. But of course we do not speak the language and have yet to figure out how everything works. Luckily for us we had Samantha. Her English is wonderful, her knowledge of Nanjing outstanding, and her caring personality just a pleasure to be around. We are a family of four with two young girls and Samantha was just fabulous with our girls, making this vacation such a highlight for them as well. Samantha planned the details of our days in Nanjing so that we saw the sights while avoiding the crowds. At one point in time we were the only ones up on the Nanjing city wall (what an incredible experience). She even took care of the “little details” such as telling us what train station to arrive at to be closest to our hotel. We experienced parts of Nanjing we never would have known about on our own (eating at a typical Nanjing restaurant, a tour down city alleys to truly see what life is like for some people). And to top it off, the gentleman Samantha arranged as our driver (Mr. Yu) was so incredibly kind to our two girls! Hi Sam,

Thanks so much for your tour guiding yesterday and today.  Lachy and Bec had a brilliant time with you today and thought it was really interesting and beautiful what you showed them.  I think you have a lovely connection with Nanjing, and you share the information so naturally, it was really great having your company for those few days.  I hope to come up again in September or October, so perhaps we could organize for Mike and I to see some of Nanjing with you.

Sam was the greatest! It was like traveling with a very knowledgeable friend rather than an automaton tour guide! It was obvious to us that Sam had a deep passion and love for her native city of Nanjing. Her insider knowledge and anecdotes about the city were quite enlightening. My husband asked tons of questions, from why the Emperor was wearing certain kinds of shoes, to what the rocks signified in the Nanjing Massacre memorial, which Sam had an answer for. I'm a complete foodie and Sam did not disappoint with her restaurant selections and food suggestions. She was professional and quite intuitive to what we needed and was able to steer us to the right places! We had a grand time and would not think twice to have Sam take us around Nanjing! All in all it was a great experience; it was much better than any typical tour company or guide could provide! We're going to miss Nanjing, it's people, the food, the sights, and especially our guide and new friend Sam!

I spent the day touring and visiting many sites in Nanjing with Samantha Wang who showed up at exactly the time.
we agreed upon on Sunday morning, a very positive start. She speaks amazing English I totally forgot she was Chinese. She was very knowledgable about Nanjing and all the sites we visited. She took me to a great restaurant for lunch and we had a fabulous meal. Samantha made my day very special and if she needs more recommendations I surely would supply them.
All in all she was one of the best city guides I have ever had.

I would like to recommend Samantha as a wonderful tour guide in Nanjing. I am an Australian teacher living in an outer suburb of Nanjing for 12 months and come into the city to stay on many weekends. I can go to the main tourist destinations myself and can use the metro. I asked Samantha to show me the local Nanjing, places I couldn't find with English tour books and some great places to eat. We had a fabulous day together. She had researched the area where I normally stay and found me a street of great food in the local community. I now eat there regularly. She spent a lot of time with the me and we departed company around 7:30pm. We were able to talk comfortably all day - she was like a good friend. I will call upon Samantha in the future to explore different areas of Nanjing.
