I have to share about this amazing Xiamen experience with tour guide Selina Chen

in 1 day we saw:  Buddhist temple and hiked to the top of the mountain by XM University, wandered around the botanical gardens on the way down the backside of the mountain.  Saw many cactuss' another temple, a cave, and very beautiful desert like scenery.  Then it was off to XM university where we saw black swans, beautiful architecture, and this huge tunnel with all sorts of really cool commissioned graffiti.  Chinese are getting good at it ;)  And a famous coffee shop with lots of post it notes all over of messages to lost lovers hahaha.  Some really great heritage.  Right in a coastal manufacturing city.  Far beyond my expectations.  Then we went to the beach!  had a nice walk, took some great pictures,,, and you would think we should be done but we went for dinner and had congee? (spelling?) and then went shopping around in a hugely busy touristy beach market.

What an awesome jam packed day! Gotta say Selina Chen is an amazing guide, and I think it will be hard to find another like her.

I booked Selina for 5 working days in June 2015 to assist me in translation in a business environment, as well helping me get around Xiamen and Quanzhou. Her English is excellent and fluent, and it's evident that she has been doing this for some time. She acts in a professional manner in a business environment and helped me to take notes where possible. We visited a garment factory as well as many stores in the Fujian region, and prior to my arrival she helped with research on the clothing brand as well as competitors in menswear, which I found immensely helpful! Selina also helped me in locating particular products, as well as ordered a product online for me while I was in China that I could use and take back home with me to analyse.

Selina was punctual and knowledgeable about the region and made booking train tickets a breeze. She helped with arranging taxi's as well as discussing logistics with the business I was visiting. She also knows about western culture which helped her choose appropriate restaurants for us to eat at, as well as some of the things westerners do and don't eat! Also, she offered to assist me in travel to and from the airport, and simple things such as a phone call if I got stuck anywhere on my own, she could translate over the phone.

I'd highly recommend Selina, and will definitely be using her services again!

We booked Selina last minute on a recommendation of another guide from another city. We had a pretty extensive trip. She was awesome! She did all that we wanted to do. She made a game plan of what to do every day and she patiently waited as we shopped til we dropped. We were a bunch of girls so shopping is a big deal. She also took us to some local markets per our request and we got some really great authentic food. Her English is also really great so it was easy for me to understand her as I\'m a little hard of hearing. She also was helpful when it was time to barter. We had an absolute blast with her and she was fun and put up with us with a smile. We hope to see her again some day soon.

I visited China for work and wanted to scout out some good places to go and things to do for not only myself, but also places to take customers.

Selina helped me a great deal with things like finding:

-fantastic spots for scenery and photos, such as the Nanputo Temple with religious ceremony and hike, the beach for a music party, a music store to play drums, and  ferry ride to Gulang Yu Island

-shopping for things like electronics, clothes, groceries and of course, tea!

-places to enjoy great food, like sushi, steak, Indian and of course, traditional Chinese food

Selina's English skills are great, and she helped me learn to communicate with the locals, including taxi drivers, bus drivers, clerks and business people.

She is a seasoned businesswoman with years of sales experience, particularly in stone and shoes and seems to have a good social and professional network.

I have since sought our Selina two more times on each of my later visits and plan to continue to do so!

She has a good eye for detail and understands western culture, which is helpful in my business including sourcing factories and quality control.

I used Selina when I visited China on a business trip last year and she was excellent. She helped us organize meetings, transport, flights and she interpreted for us during all our meetings. Her English is extremely good and I will be using her every time I vist for business again. Highly recommended.
