Apple was a great tour guide.  She's very informative, speaks perfect English, and knows nearly everything about the region.  Apple has some awesome stories too, and overall, she's just fun to be around.  Her upbeat personality and regional knowledge make her the ideal tour guide.

I had been to Shaxi in 2001 and it's still a great place to go. This time (August 3013) it was memorable because of Apple - she's warm, friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, very capable and has a great deal of knowledge. She does her best  to provide what her customers are looking for in their travel experience and with her initiative, the help of known contacts or by asking others, she will usually find a way to achieve the desired result. She's flexible, but is aware that some people want a structured schedule that they expect to adhere to. With Apple as your guide you will learn a lot about the locality, the people and their customs and can enjoy hiking in nature off the beaten track, a very worthwhile adventure. I enjoyed Apple's friendship, talking and laughing. She's always willing to go that extra mile, and I don't just mean the distance hiked, but in offering her help in so many ways, such as providing written addresses or instructions in Chinese for the traveller to ensure you can find such things as the mobile phone company, the bank or transport as you leave her guiding service for the next part of your trip.

I looked at a lot of different tour guides before I selected Apple and was glad that I did.  Apple is very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the Dali to Lijiang region, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure the client gets what she wants.  I spent 8 days with Apple.  She arranged all of my hotels, took care to make sure I had the type of food that I like, arranged for transportation for me back to Kunming, negotiated rates/prices for me most everywhere, etc, etc, etc.  She only took me shopping if I very specifically said that I'd like to look for something and made sure I knew of excellent places I could visit or eat at on my own.  Unlike me, she was tireless and always up for the next adventure.  

I very specifically wanted to get off the beaten track and to go and see things that most tourists don't.  Apple was great in making sure that I got to do and see things I wanted to, unlike some of the other guides who only wanted to go to bigger cities and take me to the major tourist attractions.  At my request, we spent several days in villages, walking around and talking with people, enjoying the gorgeous views, and hiking when I felt like it.  Apple was a fountain of information about the region and taught me things that I would never have known otherwise.  She also speaks English better than some Americans that I know.  

Overall, Apple was a great guide.  Thanks to her, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in China.  Thanks, Apple!

Han Mei is the most amazing tour guide I've ever met. We've met a few years back in Dali and she made my Yunnan experience unforgettable. She's funny and easy going, knows a lot about local customs, people and places and she's a great cook! Thanks to her my trip to Yunnan was the best part of my travels in China. I'll definitely travel with her again if I'll go there again. Thanks Apple !

a few weeks ago i did a trek wit apple li in the surroundings of shaxi.

the target was to find out if it was good for trekking with guest.

i was a great hike...we find out a lot of nice places.

to be honest the first day was great for everybody who like to trek, we did a bid of the horse trail road.So nice to do

apple took me to exiting places, she has so much experience with guiding!

How nice to see that Apple Li is now listed as a guide with Synotrip. I traveled with her last Spring and had an unusual and interesting trip. Besides being knowledgeable about the more popular tourist sites she also took me to places where foreigners rarely go. She has an uncanny ability to find remarkable local people and often got us invited into their homes for dinner and once to spend the night. Yunnan is amazing and Apple made my journey smooth and memorable.
