Apple did such an amazing job leading my school group
through Lijang and Shaxi to the Yi minority people.
Thank you so much Apple!
Roads are in front of us all ,life is yours ,travel needs no time to wait and it is one of the great teacher to learn from!
I am a Bai woman born in Dali and living in Shaxi at the moment,Shaxi is a mountainous part of Yuannan Dali Prefecture with a deep history on the old tea horse road . My background is an part time English teacher and a vegetarian chef. I have extensive knowledge of Yunnan foods, people, and wild plants, as well as Bai culture. I have more than 5 years experience as a guide,Fixer and translator, taking journalists, photographers, researchers, and tourists all over Yunnan.
For the past 6 years I also have traveled to Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Tibet as well as many big city in China . I am deeply passionate about traveling, I love to meet people of all walks of life from other cultures. I love to explore new and less visited places, to learn different ways of thinking and living from people . With my work I constantly learn more about myself and the life in this amazing and ever changing world.
I speak Mandarin, local dialect, Bai language and fluent English. I like to take my guests to off-the-beaten-paths, to local markets, to ancient villages and monasteries, and to trails in the mountains to meet local minority peoples including shamans, elders, crafts people, artists and other characters of interest living in the area.
Since moved to Shaxi a year ago ,I spent most of my time on hiking, biking ,trekking into high solitude mountains.I like to view myself as a real ,personal , passionate outdoor guide who cares about your coming trip in Yunnan.
In hope to preserve our nature ,everyone who join my tour will get a free tree in return to donate to local community &people .
I also offer fresh market tours with cooking class in Shaxi Pear Orchard Temple, and mushroom picking tours in the summer rainy season. If you prefer, we can also cook a lovely Bai-style homemade meal together.
Please feel free to contact me!
Enjoy your travel in Yunnan - The Clouds of the South !

Apple is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly. She took us to villages and markets, facilitated interactions with local people, took us hiking to remote places, and made sure we always had great local food. Her passion for preserving the nature around her was inspiring to us. We planted a tree at a local temple - such a great initiative!
We have great memories from our time with Apple, and would recommend her guiding to others.

I traveled with Apple from Shangrila to Nixi, Benzalin and a little village called Niding not far from Benzalin. Apple is great at tailoring a trip to the wants of her guests. Apple brought us to interesting spots off the beaten track which was especially refreshing after visiting a few old towns previously. She is very adventurous and loves getting new information from locals and sharing that information with her guests. During our time we managed to see a Tibetan religious ceremony in a local house, visit a vineyard, speak with a skilled teacher of pottery, meet local Tibetans and spend time getting to know them, did great hiking with beautiful views and much more. She is very interesting, knowledgable with a love of learning, and has lots to talk about! Apple also has a knack for finding delicious food. I really enjoyed my trip with Apple and only wish I'd had more time as I would have loved to go to Meili and Deqin with her as well.
Thank you Apple!

On our trip around Yunnan we spent three days with Apple. She was the perfect guide and exceeded our expectations in every respect. It was amazing how much we saw and learnt in this relatively short time. We went on a cycling tour around Shaxi and were lucky to have the opportunity to visit a carving factory in Jianchuang. Very worthwhile! We also enjoyed a long hike to Shibaoshan. Twice we had lunch with local families, excellent and a very special experience! In Lijang, Apple took us to a few "non-touristy" places, which we certainly hadn't seen on our own.
Apple is a reliable and thoughtful young woman, open-minded, enthousiastic and full of energy. She creates contacts within a short time and the locals obviously trust her. We highly recommend her for people who like to experience a part of the real China.
Next time we come we are going to take part in a cooking class in the old temple in Shaxi, where Apple has just opened a cooking school.
Good luck and thanks a lot!

I enlisted the help of Apple for an unconventional journey - one which involved a rental vehicle that I drove myself and no particular itinerary, to just go where ever the road took us, exploring places even Apple had never been.

She is a very knowledgeable and capable guide with an adventurous spirit, open to sharing with you everything she knows. More importantly, and something rather difficult for lots of other guides, what she also was willing to say what she does not know. It is easier to pretend to know everything than to admit you do not know something and Apple was great with being honest and straightforward, and then to go out of her way to find the answer to things she did not know. For that, it made the trip ever more special especially given the unconventional nature of our travels. Apple also has a nose out for good food, so with her around you don't have to worry about not getting fed, instead worry about gaining too much weight.
We started talking about possible future journeys before we finished, and really look forward to more unconventional journeys with Apple.
