Haver visited Guilin and Hong Kong 30 years ago

After holidays in Hong Kong (twice) and Singapore with my wife, we are now ready for China.

Going to do Shanghai, Xian and Beijing but want to get under the skin of each rather than just the touristy things (may do them too!)
