Today, as I was flipping through my photo album, I came across these two pictures. They were taken 13 years ago when I toured the Lingering Garden with my South African friend, AnnieMarie, and her mother-in-law. Memories rushed back in an instant. Time has flown by in the blink of an eye. That summer, we walked together among the rockeries and beside the ponds of the Lingering Garden. To my friends whom I haven't seen for years, I sincerely hope that all of us are doing well.

This year, as I'm back at Synotrip, more and more overseas friends are visiting China to learn about Chinese culture and savor Chinese cuisine. You're all welcome to Suzhou! Explore the small bridges over flowing waters, listen to the gentle and melodious Suzhou dialect, wander around the exquisite Suzhou gardens, and relish the local delicacies. Founded in 514 BC, Suzhou (苏州市) has over 2,500 years of history, with an abundant display of relics and sites of historical interest. Around AD 100, during the Eastern Han Dynasty, it became one of the ten largest cities in the world mostly due to emigration from Northern China. Since the 10th-century Song Dynasty, it has been an important commercial center of China. During the Ming and Qing Dynasty, Suzhou was a national economic, cultural, and commercial center, as well as the largest non-capital city in the world, until the 1860 Taiping Rebellion. When Li Hongzhang and Charles George Gordon recaptured the city three years later, Shanghai had already taken its predominant place in the nation. Since major economic reforms began in 1978, Suzhou has become one of the fastest growing major cities in the world, with GDP growth rates of about 14% in the past 35 years. With high life expectancy and per capita incomes, Suzhou’s Human Development Index ratings is roughly comparable to a moderately developed country, making it one of the most highly developed and prosperous cities in China.

Nanjing (南京市) has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having served as the capitals of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century CE to 1949. The city has a number of other names, and some historical names are now used as names of districts of the city, and among them there is the name Jiangning (江寧), whose former character Jiang (江, River) is the former part of the name Jiangsu and latter character Ning (寧, simplified form 宁, Peace) is the short name of Nanjing. When being the capital of a state, for instance, the ROC, Jing (京) is adopted as the abbreviation of Nanjing. As a city located in southern part of China, it first became Chinese national capital as early as in Jin dynasty, and the name Nanjing was officially designated to the city in Ming dynasty, about a thousand years later. Nanjing is particularly known as Jinling or Ginling (金陵, literally “Gold Mountain”) and the old name has been used since the Warring States Period in Zhou Dynasty.

Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum (中山陵) is situated at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin (Purple Mountain) in Nanjing, China. Construction of the tomb started in January 1926, and was finished in spring of 1929. The architect was Lu Yanzhi, who died shortly after it was finished.  Sun was born in Guangdong province of China on 12 November 1866, and died in 1925 in Beijing, China. On 23 April 1929, the Chinese government appointed He Yingqin to be in charge of laying Dr. Sun to rest. On 26 May, the coffin departed from Beijing, and on 28 May, it arrived in Nanjing. On 1 June, 1929, Sun was buried there. Sun, considered to be the “Father of Modern China” both in mainland China and in Taiwan, fought against the imperial Qing government and after the 1911 revolution ended the monarchy, and founded the Republic of China.

Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province and Huqiu are famous for their wedding dresses.

Huqiu has a famous wedding street, and many Chinese brides before marriage will come here to choose a wedding dress. In general, it’s cheaper to buy here than online, and people can see the quality.

Huqiu wedding dresses are also exported overseas through domestic aliexpress and dhgate e-commerce platform. Ninety percent of the wedding dresses are from here.

In addition to a wedding street, a new Huqiu Wedding Dress Market has just been built, where most of the wedding dresses are of good quality and design.

Based on the review comments which published in Tripadvisor website, I made a brief summary to show the most intention and degree satisfaction of Nanjing scenic spots for foreign travelers. 

As a Chinese proverb says;"There is a heaven, there are Suzhou and hangzhou on earth."Here is something about Suzhou. Suzhou is called Oriental Venice by Maco Polo. Because Suzhou has more than 300 lakes and 2000 rivers, the city is surrounded by water. The water way transport system was very developed in ancient time. The whole Suzhou municipality covers a total area of 8488 square kilo meters, with a population of 6.06 million, lakes and canals occupy 42.2% of city's total area.Tongli and Zhouzhuan are very famous water towns in Suzhou.

The city sits on Beijing to Hangzhou grand canal while high way 312, both Shanghai to Nanking Express way and railway pass through it,from east to west. As the airports,there are four, Guanfu airport lines to west,and Shuofa airport leads to north west, Suzhou's airport highway directly leads to Hongqiao airport also to Pudong airport.

Suzhou has been known as a historical city of culture renown,and it is also known as city of gardens, a town of canal,the land of rice, the metropolis of art and crafts,and the home of slick. In 514 BC, king He Lu ordered to build its capital, his prime minister Wu Zixu inspect water and soil conditions, and made astrological tellings which is on the basis of land planing, built the great city of He Lu. That began the history of Suzhou.

Now there exist four land gates and two water gates. Totally there are 518 historical and cultural sites that have been listed as national, provincial or municipal monuments. Known as a typical garden city. Suzhou preserves 68 classical gardens, here are some very famous gardens such as lingering garden, humble administrator's garden, master-of-nets garden,mountain villa with embracing beauty.

The night garden is a world culture heritage. There are 8 different kinds of performance in the night garden. The entertainment has been very successful since then attracting a great deal of people at home and abroad because of its typical Su zhou flavor of traditional instruments and performance. Night garden just open from spring to autumn.
