Guogeli Street ( or Guogelu Dajie ) is one of the two most important commercial and cultural streets in Harbin. It is double the length of Zhongyang Street. Also with plentiful European style buildings on Zhngyang Street, here you will find many more modern buildings. In addition, Guogeli Street is much wider and of course longer.

The existent main building was the adminstrative headquarters of Unit 731, which housed the offices for commanding officers, aids, specimen display rooms and special rooms for gendarme and infirmary. It was a 170-meter long and 12-meter wide brick and wood structure. The roof was burnt when they rereated in August, 1937.

Dragon Tower is really a highrise steel beauty. it is the tallest steel tower in China and the second worldwide, totaling 336 meters including its antenna.

The tower is used as the Heilongjiang Broadcast and TV Tower. But it is more than that! It has become a comprehensive multifunctional tower that incorporate the transmission of broadcast and TV, tourism, sightseeing, food and beverage service and much more.

In the narrow sense definition, Yabuli Ski Resort here refers to the ski resort popularly called "Tiwei Ski Resort" literally meaning a ski resort owned and mananged by Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Administration. It is the only ski resort for professional ski training as well as for leisure skiing. The Yabuli Ski Resort is located on the higher mountains just next to Sun Mountain Resort. In February 2009 Yabuli Ski Resort hosted the Alpine, Nordic, and Freestyle Skiing events of the 2009 Winter Universiade. Student athletes from 44 countries competed in the games.

Yabuli Ski Resort has varied trails for skiers of all levels. There are primary, intermediate and advanced ski runs. Automatic and semiatomatic snowmaking system covers all the snow courses that are 12460 meters long with an area of 431800 square meters. People have the choices of taking cableways here including hanging cars, double lifts and sing lifts.

How to Get There

Take bus 29, 85, 88 and get off at the stop of Sun Island ( 太阳岛); or take a taxi from Zhongyang Pedestrian Street, costing about RMB 40.

Situated in the opposite of the Sun Island Landscape, is the largest, the most brilliant and the most complete park, which is also named “the Ice Disneyland”. The ice and Snow World basically starts on Jan 5 and lasts about one month each year.

Hongbo Square Commercial centre (红博广场) is only minutes’ walk from the railway station. Around the square are located many high buildings and shopping centers like “Qiulin” corporate – Harbin No.1 shopping center” corporate. Under the square is the largest underground shopping mall in Harbin. It is a air-shelter turned underground shopping mall.

The underground Hongbo shopping mall is like a maze! It actually provides everything from bags, shoes, clothes, silk, tea, table cloth, toys, souvenirs, to pears and jewellery as well all kinds of local products in Harbin.
