The imperial cities of Fes, Marrakech, Meknes and Rabat have played important roles throughout the history of Morocco and, today, you can still marvel at the glory of their religious architecture and the unique charms of their historic heritage while savoring their exotic culture. This Imperial tour can start from Marrakech or Fez.

The dunes of Erg Chebbi is a strikingly strange natural formation. On the top of the flattest area you could imagine, suddenly a long mountain of sand rises. This mountain is surrounded by flat and desolate nature on all sides.

1-Sleeping in a nomad tent, bivouac in the dunes

You leave for a few hours for a tour through the dunes during the sunset colors fascinating. You will be welcomed into our tents in an oasis by our staff who live in tents in the middle of the desert. Towards the end of your tour, after dinner you can enjoy activities related to music. The next morning, after breakfast, you return to the hotel.

2. Several days in the dunes. A nomadic experience

We will explore several sites dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will visit different families of nomads in your way and make many stops to enjoy a quiet night and quiet. You have all the time you need to internalize that the Sahara has to pass the stars, animal life, the life of nomads and the “school” of the desert. Volubilis is a great archaeological site that is visited by many tourists who appreciate ancient history, especially the period of the great Roman Empire. This is the site of a partly excavated city that was developed around 3rd century AD. This city was once a Mauritian capital which later on became Roman. Even though Volubilis was continuously inhabited for several centuries and in spite of its important role of a capital city it was abandoned in the 11th century when the seat of the government was moved to near Fes. For the following eight centuries, the city was left almost unspoiled by the time but in the 18th century a strong earthquake ruined much of the site. Some of the stones from Volubilis were used in the renovation of Meknes. Almost 100 years passed until they realized that the ruins were in fact the ancient Roman town.

Greater excavations started during the French period and after so today people can see important buildings and houses that have been restored. Some of the important buildings are the basilica, the Capitoline Temple, the Arch of Caracalla and some nice mosaics.

Kasbah is a type of medina that has served as Tangier´s military and political center. It is located on a hill from where a beautiful view stretches over the ocean, straits of Gibraltar and Spain. Kasbah has high walls and it was used as a place to protect the city from attacks. A large courtyard lies inside its walls as well as the Sultan´s palace also called El Makhzen which dates from the 17th century and now it serves as a museum. Even though a rouad to the top of the hill is steep it is well worth visiting not only because of the beautiful view but also because of its colorful environment.

Day1: Marrakech, Tizi N’tichka, Aït Benhaddou, Ouarzazate and Dades.
After breakfast, we drive to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains, Ait ben Haddou Kasbah where many movies were filmed there such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia… and Mummy. Later, we keep driving to Dades Valley through Roses of Kalat M’gouna and Berber villages.

Day2: Dades, Todra Gorges, Tenjdad, Jorf, Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga.
We leave Dades after breakfast heading to Sahara Desert through Todra Gorges near Todra Valley and enjoy a panoramic view overlooking to palm trees. Later, we continue to Sahara via Oasis of palm trees in Rissani and Erg Chebbi Dunes.

Day3: Merzouga, Erfoud, Jorf, El Galaat M’gouna and Marrakech.
After taking a lovely photos of sun-set, we come back to have a shower and breakfast. Next, we drive to Marrakech through Erfoud city which is known by marble fossils, as well as, we pass through Irrigation system near El Jorf.
