This spacious and beautiful green area is located in the sole hart of Brazilian capital. Numerous people come to the park every day in order to relax but also in order to do their recreational activities. Park has artificial lakes, trails where people can go hiking and cycling, several sport fields and amusement park.

The park was founded in 1978 and since then it has been the city government cares about its maintenance. Besides the usual park activities, this one is special because one can also enjoy in several bird species that found their home in this 4.2 square km large park.

Vitor Brecheret built this beautiful granite monument. Its dimensions are alse admirable; 50 m long and 16 high. The monument was inaugurated at the opening of Ibirapuera Park in 1953. This monument is a city landmark and it shows the diversity of Brazilian people. It describes Portuguese settlers with black and native people and they all work in order to pull a canoe.

Avenida Paulista is a great and important avenue in Sao Paulo. It is approximately 2.8 km long and what makes it so important are the number of institutions as well of many excellent shopping places. Due to the excellent position and quality of the buildings this avenue is considered one of the most expensive in South America.

Along the avenue one can notice different architectural styles from Arabesque, Neo-Classic, Hindu and of course modern style buildings. But this avenue is not just about different buildings. There are also green areas among which the best is the Siquiera Campos park.

These are very famous steps covered in tiles of various colors. They are located in the Lapa neighborhood. Yellow, green, red and blue colors dominate the steps. Jorge Selarón designed the steps as he begun renovating the old stairs in 1990. There are 250 steps altogether which are covered with tiles from 60 different countries. Selarón even painted on tiles and installed them on the stairs. He invested years of his life into this stairs which are work of art as well.

Many visitors come to the site and take pictures from colorful stairs.

Ilha Fiscal is a smal picturesque island in Guanabara Bay. Even though the original name given to the island by the Portuguese was Ilha dos Ratos (Rat Island) the current name is owed to the fact that Fiscal Guard worked there.

A little castle built in neo-gothic style is situated on the island and it looks fairy-tale like. It is sepecially beautiful during night when many lights turn on. This castle was designed by Adolfo del Vecchio and it is the place where the last ball of the empire was held in 1889.

Today, the castle houses a small museum about Brazilian navy.

It is possible to reach the island either by boat or accross the causeway.

Pantanal is a vast wetland, in fact, it is the largest wetland in the world. This area is home to numerous plant and animal species. The majority of its surface is located in Brazil while the smaller parts extend through Bolivia and Paraguay. Besides from being a precious place for scientists and wildlife lovers, Pantanal is also a great tourist destination. By now, scientists have discovered 3500 plant species, 1000 bird species, 300 species of different mammals and over 9000 other animal species.

Even though Brazil is famous for the Amazon rainforest many affirm that Pantanal is better for wildlife spotting. This amazing wetland is 20 times larger than the famous Everglades, Florida.

During the rainy season 80% of Pantanal wetland is covered with water. Within the Pantanal area there are two protected areas; Pantanal Matogrossense National Park and the SESC Pantanal Private Natural Heritage Reserve.

Pantanal Matogrossense National Park is a national park in Mato Grosso region and it occupies the territory of 1350 sq km. Since the year 2000, Pantanal has been included into the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Some significant efforts have been made in order to protect such an important ecosystem.

The best period to visit national park is between May and September. Visitors can move on 150 km long road. Due to the territory characteristics the area has over 120 bridges which is a great thing for observation. The best time of the day for sightseeing is during the morning and evening.

Visiting Pantanal does not necessarily have to be on foot or by car. Many visitors choose the blend with the nature and choose horseback riding.

Visitors who prefer boat excursions can as well during October and April. Paraguayan River at that period because of more rain becomes great for such trips.

Iguazu Falls are located between three countries Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Their name means ˝big water˝. When travelling to falls from the Brazilian side one first has to go to the city of Foz do Iguaçu.

According to the legend a god wanted to marry Naipi who escaped with her lover Tarobá in a canoe so the god created the waterfalls to send the lovers to the death. In 1541, Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca who was a Spanish conquistador, was also the first European on the grounds of the ˝big water˝.

The waterfalls are 2.7 km or 1.7 miles long and in a shape of a horseshoe. 275 cascades separated by islets and rocks fall over. The largest cascade is the Union Falls, 4 km wide which fall into the Devil´s Throat precipice. The entire Iguazu Falls are the result of a volcanic eruption. 

The noise created by these waterfalls can be heard at a distance of 24 km. During the rainy season which lasts from November to March almost 13,000 cubic meters of water runs through Iguazu waterfalls. The water drops rise at a height of 90 meters. That enormous is the strength of the magnificent Iguazu Falls.

Mercado Modelo is a commercial area of the city. There are numerous stalls offering all kinds of merchandise like handcrafts, souvenirs… Most of these crafts originate in Bahia, but people do not come here only to buy things they can save to have some memory of the trip to this exotic country but also to enjoy in local food, music and different shows. It is estimated that about 80% of all visitors to Salvador come to this market.

This beautiful church is built on the Large do Pelourinho and its construction started in the beginning of the 18th century. Slaves started to build the church and they were a part of the brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black Men of Pelourinho.

One of the reasons why they started the construction is that they weren´t allowed to enter other churches. It is also interesting to mention that because they worked during the day for their masters they dedicated themselves to build the church during the night. The church was completed about 100 years after the start of its construction.

Today, this church is one of the major tourist attractions in Salvador.

This beautiful building was once home of an old Bank (Banco do Brasil) but today it ste center of cultural life in Rio de Janeiro. It has three theaters  and it hosts art exhibitions. Its exhibitions are one of the most visited. Also, there is a bookstore, and for relaxing there is a coffe shop as well as a restaurant.

The building itself looks great. It dates back to late 19th century and it was resored to give it its old glow. The building was opened as a cultural center in 1989.

There are other two similar center in the capital Brasilia and in Sao Paulo.
