Hongtuyingxiang Hotel is situated at Huashitou Village,Dongchuan County, Kunming CIty, Yunnan Province. It has the best location for tourists, otherwise you will drive 55 km along the bumpy road from Dongchuan downtown to scenic spots.

There are 85 rooms at this hotel, it only take you 30 minutes to drive to any famous views in Dongchuan. Especially it is very convenient for professional photographer to take sunset photos at Lepuao and sunrise at Damakan. Also the local cook can make delicious foods. Potatoes and mutton are the most popular food in Dongchuan. Don't miss them.

The original owner of the building was Jewish rich man, Victor Sassoon. The most floors were all owned by Cathay Hotel. It did hold a leading position due to its luxury and magnificence, which had attracted many celebrities from all over the world. In 1956, Cathay Hotel was renamed as Peace Hotel . In 2010,  after the large-scale renovation, Peace Hotel resumed its business, reliving the original image to its largest extent.

In 1846, a British captain named Richard build Richard's Hotel, the predecessor of today's Astor House Hotel. The overall facade basically belongs to neoclassic style.

Because the owner was a captain, the building was the very image of a huge ship. In the eyes of the then Shanghai residents, Richard's Hotel was associated to almost anything ' modern'.

In 1882, when Shanghai had the first application of electric lights, 7 of the 15 lights were lit up there. The earliest performances of the Circuses in Shanghai were shown there. It was among the first places to be equipped with automatic telephones... At the beginning of last century, it has met standards of today's hotels. Celebrities as Russell, Einstein, and Chaplin etc were once guests of this hotel.
