The Bai people 's population is 1,339,000 people,it is one of Yunnan's minority nationalities that enjoy a long long history and advanced culture.more than 80% of Bai people live in DaliBai Autonomous Prefecture,while the rest of them mainly live in Kunming,Lijiang,lanping,et.

Dali is the birthplace of yunnan's ancient culture.During 200 BC,han dynasty set up an administrative unit called Jun in Kingdom came into being seccessivively,Dali was that time the centre of politics,economy and culture of Yunnan,the Three Pagoda in Dali,the Dehua Tablets the Shibaoshan Grottoes of Jiangchuan County,the architectural,omplex of the temples on Jizhushan Mountain in Binchuan county are well kown tourist attractions at home and abroad.they are the crystallization of artistical talent and wisdom of the nationalities living around Erhai lake.Lissted as one of China's city historical and cutural significance,Dali has became a famous tourist attraction.

The bai people like white colour,white clothing regarded as noble,men mostly wear edge-to -edge white vests,black high neck vests,while women usually wear right -buttoned blouses,back-blue vests,they plait the hair and coil it into a bun on the back of the head;as for maidens,they wear a single braid on the back and a scarf fastened with red ribbons,They like to put on besutiful desighed aprons

The Bai People people house is "san Fang yi zhao bi"(a courtyard with rooms on three side and a decorative screenwall)and si he wu tian jing"(a major courtyard with four small ones at the four corners of major one,)the Bai architecture,harmonious and elegant in design,embodies the aretistic talent of the Bai people.

The Third Moon Fair,Raosanling,Yutanhui and torch f\Festival are the unique and colourful festivals celebrated in the areas inhabited by the Bai minority.
