Bhamian Statue.

A decade ago Thaleiban government of Afgenistan destroyed some very ancient Budhist statues.they are called Bhamian statues as they were situated in Bhamian.but budhist world needed to make a copy of bhamian statues.they did that in Srilanka.it was built in south of Srilanka.

this statue is called tsunami honganji vihara,situated near ambakangoda,in a one way this is also a tsunami memorial.because the statue was built in a tsunami effected area and opened on tsunami memorial day.the funds to build the statue was from honganji foundation,Japan.
