Cave House in Datong Shanxi

Many people on the less plateau in northwest China live in Cave House. These houses were either tunneled in to the face of a cliff or scooped into a cross-section of loess plateau. The local pelple maintain topography and save on farmlands by making use of space. They are warm in winter and cool in summer.
