About this place
Prado Parque is the the largest park in Montevideo covering the area of 106 hectares. There is also a Botanical Garden created by Carlos Recine in 1902. On the area of 13 hectares that the Botanical Garden covers hundreds of trees imported from all over the world are planted here.
Two famous sculptures are located in the botanical garden; Stage Coach (La Diligencia) and the Last Charruas (Los Últimos Charrúas).
Behind the Botanical Garden, one can see the Presidential Residence. Two museums, Juan Manuel Blanes Museum in the Palladian villa with the Japanese garden, and the Professor Atilio Lombardo Museum are located on the territory of the Parque Prado.
