Dasheng Hutong Neighborhood

Have you heard that there is a Hutong in Shanghai. Don't say no ever since now. The only Hutong in Shanghai is located at the conjunction of Huashan Road and Yan'an Road Elevated Highway. It's called Dasheng Hutong. Constructed during 1912 to 1936 by priest Drummond who lived in Beijing before he came to Shanghai, Dasheng Hutong is composed of several lanes lined with residential houses that still bear dictinctive Shikumen style blended with Art Deco elements. Inside the neighborhood is a British-style mansion, the Drummond Garden House, which has unique Chinese roof structure.
