About this place
Even though this valley is called the Valley of the Queens there are not only queens buried here but also their children and other members of nobility. This valley is located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite of Luxor (ex Thebes). Many of these tombs are beautifully decorated. About 80 tombs are found here, all of which belong to the 18th to 20th dynasty.
Some of the most important tombs are the Tomb of Khaemwese, the son of Rameses II, Tomb of Queen Titi, and the Tomb of Rameses II, Amun-hir-Khopshef.
Unfortunately, the Tomb of Queen Nefertari is still closed for public.
