About this place

Stonehenge is one of the oldest prehistoric monuments in the world. Archeologists believe that this circular setting of large stones was constructed about 3,000 2,000 BC. In 1986, the site was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stonehenge is associated with burial ceremonies at early history of its existence. Its construction evolved I several phases but the understanding of phases is difficult due to all natural changes occurred in the last 5,000 years. There are no written records from the period of its construction which would explain the development and purpose of the monument.  Because of this, today there are numerous theories which suggest that supernatural help was given to the people who built Stonehenge.
