Framlingham Castle
Framlingham Castle is a beautiful fortress/castle from 12th century with long and fascinating history. The castle is surrounded by vast green meadows, and a lake. From 1148, the year of its construction until the end of the 13th century the castle was owned by several nobilities who in spite of its strong walls managed to conquer it.
After the end of the 13th century the castle became a luxurious home for nobilities. However, at the end of the 16th century the owner who was in financial difficulties sold the castle and its surrounding estates. Today, the Framlingham Castle is a monument owned by English Heritage and in a function of a tourist attraction.
Having in mind the colorful past of the castle it is still well preserved and while walking around it one can really imagine the knights and warriors running through its hallways.
