About this place
Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is one of the most visited Buddhist temples. The temple was built in 4th century and expanded afterwards. A beautiful view stretches from the temple on Chiang Mai. There is also a myth about how and why this exact place was chosen for the construction of a temple. The mountain on which the temple is built arises about 1000 m above the sea level, and it is part of Doi Suthep National Park. You can reach the temple by climbing 300 stairs or by using a funicular.
