Every great city has its landmark bridge. London has its Tower Bridge,and San Francisco has the Golden Gate Bridge while Shanghai has Garden Bridge, in the mind of many locals, the honor should go to the centennial Waibaidu Bridge( Garden Bridge).

Waibaidu Bridge is the first all-steel bridge in China and the only surviving example of a cameback truss bridge.the fourth bridge built by the foreigners in the downstream of Suzhou Creek, near its confluence with the Huangpu River ,the Waibaidu (literally meaning ''foreigner's free passage'') was opened on January 20,1908 to replace an old wooden bridge.

Take Metro Line 2 to East Nanjing Road ,walking along the Bund about 15 minutes.
