Dandong and D.P.R.K

my name is brooklyn, i'm a tour guide working with China Youth International Travel Service Dandong Branch. even i was not born in this place, i was born in zhengzhou, henan province by the way, but i like dandong city very much.

dandong is not a big city in China, it locates on the north-east of China, on  the bank of Sino-North korean border, Yalu river, faces North korea's border city Siniuju just accrossing the Yalu river. it covers 15,000 sq with 2.4 million population. dandong was put into the namelist of "China's most excellent tourism city" in 2001, and it's also the biggest distributing center for D.P.R.K tour.

as a tour guide, i'v been visited all kinds of attractions in dandong, includes sea,river, lake,mountain, forest, hotspring; and have been visited North Korea for 22 times.

North Korea is the most mysterious place. when the first time i went to North Korea, cellphone and computer are strictly forbiden to bring inside. after customed, we were led to the waiting room and stayed there for 3 hours for the unique train from Siniuju to Pyongyang. 220km cost 5.5 hours. as the railway was single, the train had to stop in the station and wait for oppsite one passing by. we were arranged in Yanggakdo International Hotel which was located on the Island of Daedong river, the hotel is one of the three most luxuriant Hotels in Pyongyong, with Sauna, KTV and Casino in the basement, where is only open to foreigners. the trip was 4 days and 3 nights, during this period, we visited the some typical socialism attraction, such as Pyongyang metro, nearly 100 meters deep underground; Kim IL Sung Square; Chuche Idear Tower and Parting Founding Monument; we also visited Kaesong DMZ and the International Exhibition Hall in Mt.Myohyang, where showed the various marvellous and exquisite presents that given by the other county's leader or political groups.

In a word, North Korea is a place where is worthy to go.

Meet at 8:00, undertake outbound procedure. Go to Siniuju by train or bus，transact inbound procedure。Travel to Pyongyang by local Korean train, and check into the hotel after dinner (19:00)

Go to Panmunjom in Kaesong，visit Armistice negotiating Hall、the D.M.Z Military line, Koryo Museum. Go back to Pyongyang in the afternoon, visit  the Tower of Juche Idea , the Tower of Juche Idea Triumphal Arch、Mansudae Monument、Cholima Statue。Mass games in May Day stadium.

Go to Mt. Myohang，visit International Friendship Exhibition Hall。Go back to Pyongyang after lunch、visit the world’s deepest subway —Pyongyang subway; Kim IL Sung’s Birthplace in Mangyongdae; Kim IL Sung Square. Youth palace or school。

Shopping time in export shop。Go to Siniuju at 10：00，undertake outbound procedure then travel back to China.
