About this place

The David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage will wow you with keepers feeding adorable baby elephants with Milk Formula developed by Late Dame Daphne Sheldrick. The centre has successfully raised the orphaned elephants and reintroduced them back to the wild at the Tsavo East National Park.  Different babies are orphaned as as result of Poaching, Human wildlife conflict amongst others. The number of orphans range from about 18-25 depending on the different times of visit. The centre is only open for 1hr to the public from 11-12pm and the rest of the hours the baby elephants spend at the nairobi national park with their keepers. You can also choose to be a foster parent of these babies for only $50 renewable yearly to support the conservation efforts. This also gives you a special view of your baby in the evening just before bed time which has to be prebooked with the management.
