The German Governor's House

The former German Governor's House was situated at the center of Qingdao's historical area. Designed by Werner Lazarowicz, a German architect, its construction work was started in July 1905 and opened in July 1907. During the period of German occupation, it served as the residence of Kiautschou Governor.With its remarkable historic, artistic, and scientific value, it fully demonstrates the evolving track of Western architectural style in history and typically represents the special characteristics of architectural thoughts in Germany and even in the whole Europe at the turn of 20 century.
