Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street

Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is located between Shangjiu Road, Xiajiu Road and Shiyan Road of Liwan District (commonly known as Xiguan) in Guangzhou. It is one of the three traditional and prosperous commercial centers in Guangzhou. With a total length of 1,237 meters, there are 238 commercial shops and thousands of merchants. In the long history, the four Xiguan customs of the commercial pedestrian street in China and the West have gradually formed, and a unique and beautiful Xiguan style painting has been constructed to create a beautiful tourist landscape. The well-known Shangxiajiu Commercial Street is located in Xiguan of the Old City. It starts from Shangxiajiu Road in the east and goes to the 10th West in the west. It runs through Baohua Road and Wenchang Road. It has a total length of more than 1,237 meters. There are more than 300 shops in the whole road. The passenger flow reached 600,000 times. It gathers the Laoxiguan food culture, Lingnan food culture and Lingnan folk customs in Lingnan culture.
The landmark building of Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is a thousand-kilometre street. The arcade adapts to the hot and rainy climate in the south. It can block the wind and rain and avoid the sun and shine, resulting in a cool environment. The building originates from British colonies such as Singapore and Hong Kong. The arcades in Guangzhou were introduced to Guangzhou by the Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi in the Qing Dynasty with reference to the experiences of Western countries and regions, especially Hong Kong.
