Meet your private guide in your hotel lobby at 8.30am and hop in a taxi to Hongqiao Train Station where you will enjoy a high-speed bullet train ride to Hangzhou. On the way, admire the countryside landscapes and learn more about the culture and history of the Yangtze River region from your guide.

Upon arrival in Hangzhou, take a walking tour around the famous West Lake, as your guide shares stories about the legends of the West Lake and Lady White. Enjoy a tasty local lunch at a local restaurant (own expense), then continue your trip with a visit to the Meijiawu green tea village. Stroll around the plantation and learn more about the growing, harvesting, and processing of the tea. Then, visit the beautiful Zhongzhu Temple, which dates back over 800 years.

Arrive at the Xitang Water Village around 4pm (an around 1.5 hour drive), in time to watch the sunset. This ancient water village has a history of over 2500 years and you can stroll around the cobbled streets, admiring the old buildings, bridges, and canals. Your guide will also point out the locations where the movie Mission Impossible 3 was filmed in 2005. 

Before heading back to Shanghai, perhaps choose to have a romantic dinner at a riverside restaurant in Xitang (own expense). After dinner, stroll around the popular West Street to browse the boutiques and handicrafts shops, and admire the illuminated town. 

Your tour ends around 8.30pm and you'll be dropped back at your hotel in Shanghai.
