Xinghai Conservatory of Music

Xinghai Conservatory of Music, formerly known as Guangzhou Conservatory of Music, was founded in 1932 by China's modern musicians Ma Sicong and Chen Hong. It's the only higher educational institute of music in South China and has produced such celebrity musicians as Xian Xinghai, Xiao Youmei, Ma Sicong and Li Ling, who led the music and culture tide in modern China. The school was renamed to Xinghai Conservatory of Music in December 1985 to remember the Cantonese musician Xian Xinghai.
