Xi Men Kou, West Entrance to Guangzhou City

Ximenkou, or West Entrance, is one of the few ancient landmarks of Guangzhou. The city boasts over 2000 years of history. However, you can hardly find much old stuff now, and here, right at the west entrance of the old city was excavated the relics of the barbican or guard castle of the ancient Guangzhou. It was enclosed with rusting rails and people could only have a glimpse of the relics from the road.
