The street level park, located in the beautiful south of the sand, covers an area of 214 thousand square meters.The former causeway garden and queen's garden in the French & British concession. In 1953, it was planned to be a park.

Shamian used to be an important port for cargos and an recreation area by the Pearl River. After the Opian War, the area was taken by French and English as a legation quater.They dug moat around the area and turned it into an island.
