Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:  Chengdu- Lhasa
Morning flight to Lhasa, transfer to Lhasa in the afternoon. The guide will meet you at Gonggar Airport, and transfer you to Lhasa city with about 1 hour's driving (100km). On the way, you'll get greeted by Nie Tang Budda-a Budda image engraved in the mountain face. After arrive in Lhasa, rest and acclimatize.

Day 2: Lhasa sightseeing
The first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa's cardinal landmark- Potala Palace, a structure of massive portions. It takes at least a good 2-hour to visit those rooms, halls and chapels. Some 2km to the east of the Potala is the most revered religious structure in Tibet-Jokhang Temple. Bustling with worshippers and redolent with mystery, the Jokhang is an unrivalled experience. The quadrangle of streets surrounding the Jokhang is the Barkhor- Lhasa's most interesting pilgrimage circuit. This area of the Old Town is both the spiritual heart of Lhasa and the main commercial district for Tibetans.

Day 3: Lhasa-Drepung monastery
and Tibetan carpet workshop About 8km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung, once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. This day's sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains.All Tibetan carpets have cotton 'fringe' on the ends, this is the natural remaining ends of the weft threads once the carpet is cut off the loom. Since some customers prefer the look and practicality of a clean edge, the fringe is often folded underneath the rug, covered with a strip of canvas, and hand bound

Day 4: Lhasa-Yamdroktso-Shigatse
Yamdroktso(4441m), one of Tibet's three holy lakes, is located 110km outside of Lhasa. It's mostly mountain road, winding and bumpy, even thrilling somewhat. After about 3.5 hours' driving, climbing over the snow pass of Kambala(5030m), the dazzling Yamdroktso just lies several hundred meters below the road Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang(7191m).
Visit the Old Town of Shigatse after arrive, a great place to wander around: Nicely decorated Tibetan houses and interesting.

Day 5: Shigatse-Lhasa
Tibetan incense workshop.Miles away from Shigaste, you can already see the gold tops of Tashilhunpo shinning under the sun. While Tashilhunpo's magnificent outside leaves you gasp in admiration, the inside of this monastery introduces you more religious tranquility and sincerity.Tibetan Incense or Dhoop are handmade in the Himalayas according to traditional Tibetan recipes. The ancient art of making Tibetan incense is the traditional masala method in which natural resins, flowers, spices, aromatic and medicinal herbs are blended with the natural glue to create these bamboo-less stick incense in accordance with the oldest Buddha recipes. Drive back Lhasa.

Day 6: Lhasa-Chengdu.
Pack your luggage and get ready for leaving. The guide will transfer you to the railway station. Say goodbye to Tibet and fly out.

You will get a close touch to the Potala Palace, The Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street in this day.

Make a full day city tour to Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka, and Carpet Factory.

Day 4: Lhasa Departure (B, L)
Free in the morning and guide will meet and tranfser you to airport at the appointed time for your return flight.

The tour includes all the important places of interest in central and south Tibet. We start two-day excursion to visit the most important monasteries in Lhasa and get the impression of the daily life of Tibetans at the commercial trading place at Barkhor Street. After feeling the religious atmosphere from the crowds of pilgrims, magnificent murals, Buddhist statues and scriptures, we start our overland trip through the Himalaya range. 
 
We spend a lot of time on the vehicle to the visit Qomolangma Peak (the highest peak on earth above sea level) due to the vast land of Tibet. On the way, we pass by Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet and visit some monasteries. 
 
When you finally get to Everest Base Camp, the first sight of the mighty Everest simply leaves you speechless. All the hardship you bear along the way makes sense at this while. This pilgrim tour in Tibet will make your journey a life-time trip.

Day 2
  
In the morning we visit Potala Palace, which was originally constructed in 637AD by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of the united Tibet, and later expanded and served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas as well as becoming the religious - political nexus of traditional Tibet. The crowds of pilgrims, innumerable magnificent murals, Buddhist statues, scriptures and rare treasures altogether creative a dense religious and artistic atmosphere that impresses every visitor. In the afternoon we visit Jokhang monastery, the center of the Tibetan Buddhist region and the sacred land of Buddhist followers where thousands of pilgrims come to worship every day. The temple, built in 647AD, is the earliest wood-and-masonry structure still existing in Tibet. We will then walk along the Barkhor street surrounding Jokhang Monastery, a big market with prolific stalls selling local specialties.

Day 3
 
In the morning we visit Drepung monastery, the sacred land of Gelug Sect., which was established in 1416 and the second, third and fourth . In the afternoon we visit Sera monastery, which was created in 1419 and has always been an important Buddhist seminary. As roses are planted everywhere in the monastery, it is also called osestill 200 Lamas live there.

Lhasa  Gyantse- Shigatse (about 435km) (B/L)

Day 4 
 
Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950 m) via Yamdrok Lake (4408 m), one 3.5 hours to Yamdrok Lake, most of the time we are driving on the mountain road, winding and bumpy. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m). After down from the mountain, there is about 30km road along lakeside, with barley fields on the other side of the road. A nice walk by the lakeside can be a great joy. At arrival at Gyantse visit the Palcho Monastery and its associated Kumbum (three dimension mandala) temple. Gyantse is a relaxed town offering a splendid sight of the Kumbum Stupa situated at its Northern edge. Housed within the compound of a rather barren looking  Palcho Monastery, Kumbun consists of 8 levels and a total of 75 chapels with wonderfulmurals revered by art scholars around the world. Drive another 95km (about one hour) to Shigatse. It would be a long day for about 10 hours.

Day 5
 
This day can make you tired as you basically spend the whole day on the road (about 7 hours on the drive). On the way, you will cross over Gyatsola Pass at 5,220 m. You will also visit Sakya Monastery and see Mt. Everest far away on the way. Tingri is the last stop before Mount Everest Base Camp.

Day 6
 
Although it's just 100km from Tingri to Mt. Everst Base Camp, it takes about 5 hours since the cracked winding roads demand much caution. But the views are stupendous on a clear day, and feature a huge sweep of the Himalaya range including peaks over 8000, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Gyachung and Cho Oyu. When you finally get to Everest Base Camp, the first sight of the mighty Everest simply leaves you speechless. All the hardship you bear along the way makes sense at this while. The best moments to watch Mt. Everest's are early morning and late evening when Everest is shining like a goddess in the sunglow. This afternoon is left free for you to wondering around the Rongbuk Monastery or hiking to the base camp of Mt. Everest.

Drive from Rongbuk Monastery to Shigatse through Tingri, about 9 hours on the way.

Day 8
 
We will visit Tashilhunpo Monastery this morning. Built in 1447 and the seat of the Panchen Lama, the monastery houses a giant statue of the Maitreya Buddha and a tomb of the 4th Panchen Lama, which contains masses of jewels and gold. Just close Tashilhunpo is the Old Town of Shigatse, a great place to wander around: Nicely decorated Tibetan houses and interesting market and bazaar give you a vivid picture of local people's life. We drive back to Lhasa (about 5 hours) in the afternoon. At arrival, you could walk around the old town and do some shopping for old prayer wheels, tankas, etc.on your own.
