Guangzhou , is the third largest economic city of chinese mainland, capital of Guangdong Province, it is political, economic, technological, educational and cultural centers of Southern China; it is one of the most important transportation hubs in China.
Guangzhou is located in Guangdong Province in south-central, situated in the mouth of the Pearl River Delta, with the Baiyun (White Cloud) Hill in the north and the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Delta Plain in front. It adjoins the South China Sea , near Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region, It is the southern gateway to the world of China.

The ten districts include: Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu, Huadu, Panyu, Nansha, Luogang, while the two county-level cities are Zengcheng and Conghua. It is the most populous city in the province and the third most populous metropolitan area in China. The provincial government’s official estimate of the metropolitan area’s population at the end of 2006 was 9,754,600.Guangzhou’s urban land area is the third largest in China, behind only Beijing and Shanghai.
Guangzhouis one of the 24 cities which are the first to have been announced as famous cities of historic and cultural interest in China. The history of 2,200 years has left behind many places of historic interest and scenic beauty. They are vivid witness of past brilliance of Guangzhou. The sites of Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Hall, Huangpu Military Academy, Huanghuagang Park and Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute all bore witness to the great revolution.
Guangzhou is one of the best places for eating in China. The Chinese saying “Born in Suzhou, eat in Guangzhou and die in Liuzhou” is a fitting way to describe the wealth of great food available here. (Apparently if you are born in Suzhou you have a beautiful mother, and if you die in Liuzhou you will be buried in the finest coffins!) Eating is certainly the main pleasure for the local residents of Guangzhou and there are literally hundreds of good restaurants serving up authentic Cantonese cuisine.
