Tivo

The name ’tivo’ is short for ’aperitivo’ – a light alcoholic drink before lunch or dinner, often served with free snacks in an Italian bar. They do this with gusto at tivo, where their passion for wine is apparent in their vast selection of 10 white and 10 red by-the-glass wines, plus their collection of daily wine specials. The carefully selected list of wines is sourced from regions around the world, with all adhering to their core philosophy of balance between styles suited to food, and suited to whet the palate before food. Designed to be ’laid-back, warm and inviting,’ tivo offers an exclusive spot for pre-dinner aperitifs, casual drinks and friendly dinner parties with its chic and abstract interiors – a series of wood veneer pendant lights set against a backdrop of glowing back-lit wine-shelves and an oval centerpiece bar with concave sides.

Also, started on July 31st, tivo now offers a menu of authentic dishes from the regions of Italy throughout September. The ’gastronomic tour’ is conceived by Guest Chef Eugenio Riva, who draws inspiration from his Italian heritage. In addition, Chef Riva, who is aqua restaurant group’s newly appointed Chef de Cuisine, based at One Peking Road will bring seven authentic dishes from seven regions of Italy to tivo. The limited time menu includes dishes from Puglia, Lombardy, Toscana, Sicily, Veneto, Lazio (Roma) and Campania . Open daily for lunch and dinner, and on weekends for brunch, tivo is coined a dining bar rather than a bar per se. It specializes in light contemporary Italian cuisine including pizza and pasta using only the freshest produce and choice ingredients.
