The Bookworm - An English Language Library
Following in the footsteps of the original Bookworm in Beijing, Peter Goff has taken up the noble task of starting an English language library in Chengdu. Opened in the fall of 2006, the library also features a restaurant serving pan-European cuisine, and a steadily growing collection of French, German, Dutch, and Italian titles. From children’s books to philosophy to travel guides and fiction the Bookworm is doing its best to build its collection by importing books from overseas. The library also offers a complete collection of reference materials as well as magazines and some books for sale.
Library Fees:
Members can take out two books for up to two weeks at a time. Families can take out 6 books for up to two weeks at a time.

Directions: The Bookworm’s address is officially on the 2nd section of South Renmin Road (Renmin Nanlu, 人民南路二段), but it’s actually located on a side street headed west, not more than 50 meters from Renmin Lu. Walking south of Renmin Lu, cross the American Consulate Road, continue past Zoe’s BBQ on the right side, and then turn right. You can’t miss the Bookworm on the left side.
