About this place

Following on in the same vein as the restaurant that previously existed in the samelocation, there comes L’Eclipse – Langham Hotel’s latest adventurous dining outlet. Although the Sun Café now ceases to exist, this new restaurant has eclipsed the dated café in every way imaginable. Like a freshly recycled piece of paper there are a number of innovative new ideas incorporated into this unique restaurant. Take, for example, the projected eclipse or the colour-changing mood lighting with funky ceiling panels that all control the interior ambience.

Also, if you are one of those who have ever wondered about the cooking process or the hygiene of your food – and in Hong Kong there are definitely some places where you’d be forgiven for thinking so – then this is the restaurant for you. Interactivity is the selling point and, with one of the most open kitchens in Hong Kong, you can see every ingredient as it undergoes the transformation into your dinner. The restaurant is more of an experience with the ambient noises of the kitchen, the tempting smells of the food, the glittery visual colours of the décor, and of course the climatic array of tastes playing on your every sense.

While the buffet is the main focus, there is also a nice a-la-carte menu that consists of a similar style of Asian fusion cuisine. Think dishes such as salmon with char siu sauce or the barbecued duck and eggplant Canton club (pictured above) and you will understand the ecliptic kind of food that makes up this wonderful experience.
