About this place
Recently opened, Lotus focuses on creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with a moden Asian interior. The terraced bar at the front of the venue opens onto Pottinger Street, where crowds spill out onto the pavement on busy nights. A cocktail bar, DJ booth and a VIP section complete the look.
The menu is influenced by the street food from Southeast Asia, especially Thailand and Indonesia. Don't worry, there is no gastronomic fusion confusion involved. Each dish is authentic. Signature dishes include smoked trout and betel leaf with dried shrimp galangal and ocean trout roe; crispy pork hock with tamarillo plum sauce; and Vietnamese braised Angus beef short rib with mint, Thai basil and hot-and-sour salad. Lotus will also offer the first range of “charred” cocktails in Hong Kong, for which the fruit is char-grilled to change the molecular structure of its sugars and hence, alter its taste.
Thu through Sat night, Lotus becomes a hip late-night lounge that will feature top-shelf local and international DJs.
