Most universities in Wuhan offer very comfortable dorm beds for budget travelers. For instance the foreign student hostel at Wuhan University has dorm beds for 60 Yuan, while rooms at the university guest house cost 100 Yuan per night. The accomodation is neat and up to Western standards. Just behind the guest house there is a wonderful view of the East Lake scenic spot. All you need to do is head outside the gate for 100 meters and you will be there!
The two guesthouses at the China University of Geosciences offer very good dormitory accomodation for 60 Yuan per bed. There are also rooms available for between 100-150 Yuan/per night. The new guest house is even more comfortable with bigger rooms and great bathrooms.
