International Continuing Education Center
Shanghai at any one time is home to 70,000 expats (not to mention hordes of tourists and houseguests), some of which work and some of which simply dwell. The life of a "Bungalow Bunny" soon becomes tedious with many trailing spouses, as devoted as they are, starting to feel redundant and wondering why they came. Spotting the gap, an American professor and his Chinese wife, decided to initiate an education center for foreigners. After months of toil, it all paid off and the first semester began in the autumn of 2005. The International Continuing Education Center appears to be growing stronger each month with new areas of study always available, particularly in local media.
The Center is located at Shanghai Jiaotong University Xujiahui campus and is easily accessible by Metro line 1. The center is is housed in a brand new building with state-of-the-art equipment, combining comfort and technology to create a world class education environment. All tutors are qualified with masters degrees, and have achieved professional success since graduation. There is even an American TV star teaching the acting class!!
Though this is not a bachelors degree program, the classes offer both professional enhancement and personal enrichment. With courses conveniently measuring three months in length, they can be take by those here on a short term contract.
Course offerings include:
