Chinese Lantern

Chinese lanterns come out in a great variety. They are varied in style, bright in color, unique in artistic form and made with fine workmanship.

Lantern making has its origin in the Western Han Dynasty (B.C.206- A. D. 25). Red constitutes the principal color. Lanterns were a must both in the

imperial palace and houses of the ordinary people. With the lapse of time, lanterns have become a symbol for the Chinese people to pray for a

good fortune, usher in auspiciousness, and celebrate prosperity. They are treasures of the traditional Chinese folk handicrafts.
