This important building is the seat of the federal executive and it located in the sole city center. The great city square called Palaza de la Constitución stretches in front of this building. Even though this building host some important offices, visitors are allowed to go through some of them and in that way see the interior of the building.

The exterior of the building is painted in dark red color. Two towers are located on the front facade and together with the central part they form the three main doorways. The main balcony used for special ceremonies and for presidential appearances is located in the central doorway.

There is a spacious patio inside of the building. Baroque arches surround it while the murals made by Diego Rivera describe the history of Mexico. This description is called the Epic of the Mexican People. Rivera made a fantastic work and vividly described the history from the arrival of the Spaniard until 1930.

Palenque are ruins of a Maya site in Chiapas, Mexico which date back to the 3th century. This site lived the most glorious era between 500 and 700 AD.  Today, Palenque enjoys the status of a National Park. The nearest village is Santo Domingo de Palenque. On an area of about 2.2 square km there were about 1500 structures built by that famous civilization.

It is thought that the original Mayan name of the city was Lakamha´ which means Big Water. This site is especially attractive because of unique decorations used in their architecture. Thanks to hieroglyphic inscriptions, scientists managed to draw some conclusions regarding the lifestyle and customs of the period.

Palenque is an entire complex and one of the first things a visitor can see is the Skull Temple which is called that way because of the skull relief.

Later on, visitors can see tombs and one of the most visited ones is in the Temple XIII. This tomb is called Red Lady's Burial because the woman who was found buried there had about 40 years of age at the time of death and the  tomb was adorned by red color and covered in cinnabar. Her body was also surrounded by other items such as jade, gods,, food and drinks because according to the Mayan beliefs this custom prevented from going to the underworld.

Between the Skull Temple and the Temple of the Inscriptions stands the Grand Palace and its tower. It is in fact in the center. Grand Palace is a complex built in different periods and connected.

Step pyramids make Mayan sites so recognizable. In Palenque the eight step pyramid is called the Temple of the Inscriptions. Within the Temple there is the tomb of one of the most famous Mayan ruler called Pakal. The entire temple is decorated with beautiful reliefs.

The site has several other temples such as the Temple of the Cross, Temple of the Foliated Cross, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Jaguar…

Templo Mayor or Great Temple was a stone pyramid built in the 14th century. It has two Aztec temples dedicated to two gods; god of war Huitzilopochitl and to god of rain and agriculture Tlaloc. After the arrival of European conquistadors the Tenochtitlan (as it was called) was completely lost. It was only in 1978 when an Aztec carving was found that the temple was excavated.

These temples have a central staircase on which human sacrifices were made for gods. Many of the artifacts can be seen in the museum while the lesser number right on the site. Here, one can see the Wall of Skulls, two full size statues of warriors and a stone eagle where once the hearts of the sacrificed people were placed.

This is one of the places of apparition of the Virgin Mary in Mexico here she appeared miraculously to an indian inside a tree of Ocote (pine tree) it is to be said that the image of the Virgin Mary adored in this sanctuary has done miracles since it was find in the forest. The church is built in a beutiful barroque style.

Taking a bus to Tlaxcala city and then public transportation

Ruta del Café is sort of an ecotourism project which includes coffe plantations in Chiapas region. These plantations are over 100 years old. Due to the large amounts of rain in this region coffee grows perfectly and visitors are availabel to walk to plantations and even rent rooms there. In addition, one can see ena experience the processing and see the processing facilities used in the pass.

Here people care about authenticity of experience so the majoriy of roads are not paved and one can come accross large rocks etc.

The fincas (plantations) which tourists can visit are Irlands, Argovia, Hamburgo and La Chiripa. They offer different tour (walking, horseback riding, bike tours). Besides plantations one can see also San Francisco waterfall

Palma Sola is an archeological site located in Acapulco. It consists of Indian cave drawings that are positioned on 18 granite rocks of different sizes. The drawings describe the life and the area in the period between 800 BC and 700 AD. These drawings spread on the territory of 3.8 hectares. Each of the 18 drawings have their own importance and are still studied by the National Anthropology and History Institute. It is believed that the Yopes, the first and little known inhabitants, made these carvings.
The archeological zone offers additional facilities like a permanents exhibition hall, cafeteria, trails, observation stations, library, restrooms, and parking.

El Zócalo – old town square is a traditional and central square of the city. For many years El Zócalo has been an important part of the city´s life. This part of the town has a little bit slower rhythm of life. There is a little park where people come to walk and relax. There are a number of restaurants and bars, hotels and several shops.  Even though Acapulco is famous for its nightlife, if during the day you wish to get away from all that noisy crowd this is the place. At the north of the square is located the cathedral of the Nuestra Señora de la Soledad.

Fort San Diego was built in order to protect the port and the ships with the cargo which were coming here. It was built between 1615 and 1617 but due to the earthquake that happened in 1776 the fort was rebuilt several years later. Today, it is the most important historical site in Acapulco. It is also home the historical museum of the city – Museo Histórico de Acapulco. The museum has 15 exhibition halls where it shows items that describe the city´s history. It exhibits archeological and historical objects and the museum often loans from other museum so that visitors can see other objects which are do not belong to the museum permanently. The objects here represent not only the colonial heritage but a combination of different cultural heritage; Mezcala, Mayan, and Olmec. Here one can also see some interesting masks and figurines. The Museum and the fort are well equipped. There is a parking space, an auditorium, department for educational services, a garden, guided tours service, and of course, a magnificent view over Acapulco´s port and Bay of Santa Lucía.
