Belgian Beer Bar No. 43 Bei Sanlitun Nan, ChaoyangQu, Beijing
About this place
Formerly known as the Hidden Tree, the bar was relocated to Sanlitun’s famous South Bar Street was as the original was demolished. The Tree is a bit tricky to find, but it is the worth the trek as it has some of the tastiest pizza in Beijing, and possibly all of China (or even the world according to Beijingers returning from Italy). Their secret is the large prominently displayed wood fired oven (which I suppose doesn’t make it much of a secret). The Tree is also famous for their wide selection of Belgian beers on tap. No need to hurry over as they stay open to the wee hours.
Directions to The Tree: From the intersection of Sanlitun Lu and Gongti Lu, go north on Sanlitun Lu for one long block, then turn left. On the right side is Tongli Studios. Go straight until Poacher’s night club is on the left; then turn left and pass Fish Nation restaurant. Then make the first left and The Tree is on the left side. It is just behind Poachers, which is a major Sanlitun land mark as the original disco / watering hole in the area .

Re: The Tree
The bar is hung with oil paintings on the wall , whether it is a pattern or furnishings , giving a considerable sense of atmosphere . Overall decoration is a Western-style.
