Guangzhou delicacies are the main representatives of Yue Cai (Cantonese Cuisine), which also includes Chaozhou dishes and Dongjiang dishes and enjoys great popularity all over the country. This kind of cuisine uses a wide range of ingredients from the sky, the earth, and the water. They also use seasonings sparingly. Shuang Pi Nai (Double-Skin Milk): Nanxin Shuang Pi Nai is the specialty of Nanxin Milk Store on the Xia Jiu Lu. Simmered milk has a frozen cover made of the mixture of egg white and milk, Hence the name Double-Skin Milk. When finished, this food appears to be pure white and semisolid. It tastes soft and sweet. And most importantly, it has much nutritional value, good for your health.
Jidi Zhou (Jidi Porridge): Jidi Zhou served in the Wuzhan Ji Restaurant is the most famous of all. It has been a noted snack bar since the early 1900s.

They regard it as nutritious food. 'Boiled' Tangshui is a hot drink and the 'frozen' one is the soft drink. The most popular Tangshui store is the Taiping Guan Icehouse on Beijing Lu.
Yexiao (Midnight Snack) is one of the local population's customs. It is usually taken after 10 p.m.; hence the name Midnight Snack. Some people like to cook the meal themselves; others invite a few friends to have Yexiao at a teahouse. Nearly every teahouse serves Midnight Snacks.

Pearl River Night Cruise
The night scene viewed on the Zhujiang (the Pearl River) is so enchanting that you must have a look. The best way is by boat. The trip will start from the Xidi Dock and end at the Guangzhou Bridge. There are more than thirty attractive areas along the bank.
The schedules are 18:00 - 20:00, 20:00 - 21:30 and 20:30 - 22:30. It costs about CNY38 (or CNY48 including CNY10 for dinner) for tourist boat and about CNY68 (CNY98 including dinner expenditure) for deluxe boat. (The ticket fare is just for your reference.)

Pearl River Night Cruise
Three famous bar streets: Binjiang Lu, Huanshi Lu and Bai'e Tan, are the best known in Guangzhou. Binjiang Lu Bar Street is by the bank of the Zhujiang (Pearl River), and has lovely scenery. Huanshi Lu Bar Street is located in the city center. However, the Bai'e Tan Bar Street, located at Changdi Lu on the bank of Bai'e Tan (White Goose Pond), is the most exotic.

Sacred Heart Cathedral
Occupying 0.68 acres (2,754 square meters), it is the most magnificent cathedral in Guangzhou. It is not only the largest Gothic cathedral in China and Southeast Asia, but also one of the four stone made Gothic cathedrals in the world. It consists of a main hall and two side halls on each side. All the walls and pillars are made of granite. Its period of construction lasted from 1863 to 1888, lasting around 25 years. It opens to the public in mornings and Catholics enjoy entry priority. Photo-taking is not allowed while inside.

Shamian Catholic Church Our Lady of Lourdes
Built in 1890, it is located on the southern part of Shamian Island, Guangzhou. It covers an area of about 466 square yards (389 square meters). Besides the main hall, there is a grotto and a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in its courtyard.

First we will visit the 700 years old City wall, We will climb up from south gate and have a walk on the wall. We are not sure how many km we can walk, because of the renovating of the wall. Normally we will walk from south gate to the Yunlu Exit.
Then visit the Confucius temple, there is a old building named Dacheng Hall which is over 840 years old. From outside, we can see the big wood joints to lift the big roof around the building which is named Dougong. Due to this design, there are less columns inside the hall for giving the big space for the statues and the prayer. We have chance to see the Confucius statue and learn the philosophy of Confucius. If you like, you can pray for you and your children to get better study.
There is the Paper Cutting master named Wentao nearby the exit of Confucius temple. She is very smart and create the new style paper cutting with much more details and good wishes on it. Her products are made by hanks. It is worth to visit and buy as a souvenir from Pingyao. From the table standing and wall hangings. Please remember, take the red one because of red is the traditional and happy color. But the white one is the best. It is really difficult to choose, because of all of them are really nice.
Then you can have coffee break or tea break if you need at Chummy coffee, after this, visit the City god temple (ChenghuangMiao) which is most beautiful temple inside the wall. Because of the roof is covered by the colorful glazed tiles. There is not only city god and also the three money gods, Now you know why pingyao was the financial center.
