This place was set up by a German lady, who traveled to Dali a few years ago, loved here, and settled here, with her genius care for quality of food. The material of food here are based on organic farming resources, and some even imported from other countries.

   The staffs are all very sweet and friendly local young people, who serves you with smile always.

  They also offer space to exhibite local artists' work, from time to time, mainly paintings and creative stuffs.

  The palce is simply and beautifully designed, very cosy space for reading, working on laptop, or just enjoying your afternoon tea with friends.

  The location is very easy to find too, next to the biggest Mosque in the old town, on the charming Renmin Road.

The whole name of the museum is Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum affiliated to Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This museum was established in 1990. Mr. Shao Yifu from Hong Kong donated 3,000,000 Hong Kong dollars and the state allotted 2,500,000 Yuan for the museum's construction that was initiated in 1987.

The museum is a modern building with total construction areas of 3160 square meters. It is divided into two exhibition halls: one for displaying traditional Chinese medicine samples and the other for exhibiting traditional Chinese medicine history. The former covers an area of 1500 square meters and the latter 800 square meters.

The exhibition hall for traditional Chinese medicine history is rich in collection. Under the theme, there are about 1100 cultural relics, 200 medicine books with thread binding and 6000 journals and magazines in total. The exhibition hall for medicine samples displays on a large scale every aspect of the system of traditional Chinese medicine, and the comprehensive exhibition room is the major one that opens to the public at present, which offers a systemic introduction to the basic knowledge on traditional Chinese medicine.

Originally representing the avant-garde, the area now accommodates artists who paint in varying styles, ranging from the avant-garde to the academic. Sculptors, photographers, art critics, film directors also call the area home.

The “Song Zhuang spirit” truly exists; it is the spirit of idealistic Chinese artists. The roots of this artistic community can be traced back to the grounds of the Old Summer Palace in the north-east of Beijing.

It was there that in the 1980s, like-minded free spirits congregated, living relatively poorly, though freely, escaping from the rat race and pressures of modern society.

Artists arrived from all over China, celebrating a creative community and period of intense artistic exploration. This fertile artistic ground produced artists later to find international recognition and fame, most notably Fang Lijun, Yue Minjun and Yang Shaobin.

In an effort to preserve the spirit of the avant-garde, Fang Lijun, Zhang Huiping and Yue Minjun took the bold initiative in the spring of 1994 to relocate to the farming area of Song Zhuang Township. Liu Wei, Zhang Huiping, Wang Qiang and Gao Huijun were also in this first wave of artists to move.

By the end of the year a quite formidable group of talent had succeeded in keeping the flame burning for Chinese avant-garde art.

Here, the old-style farmhouses, many with small front courtyards or gardens, proved an ideal living and working space for the artists, more of whom would subsequently arrive following the official closure of the Old Summer Palace community in 1995.

When entering "the kingdom of bee", you will find yourself wandering in ancient times. Before your eyes are bee fossils and rock drawings which record the scene that people living 6,000 or 7,000 years ago are climbing the cliff to get the wild honey.

At the sight of them, you will understand how bees relate to our life in culture and in history. Bee species in various sizes and extra-large wild honeycombs will tell you the biological characters of bees and the secrets of their living habits.

You could also get access to the secrets of "round dance" and "waggle dance" of the bee and listen to the story of "killer bee". Little bees and their labor fruits contain endless knowledge. In the museum, an exhibition entitled "Bees are our friends" is put on all year around. The exhibition hall covers an area of 150 square meters which is devoted to three exhibition rooms where 506 pictures and charts are on display.

Beijing Botanical Gardens, lying at foot of the West Hill (Xi Shan) in the suburbs of Beijing, are a relaxing, inexpensive place to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of big city life. The Gardens are particularly spectacular in spring, with their blossom-laden fruit trees, and in autumn, when the vivid reds, greens, browns and golds of the vegetation heralds the approach of winter. Try to avoid weekend visits in spring as the park can get quite crowded with Beijing residents checking out the blossom.

Opened in 1956, 200 hectares of the Botanical Gardens are currently open to the public, including living plant collections, a lake, various historic sites, and a nature reserve. Beautiful displays are made monthly in the main conservatory, bonsai garden, the arboretum and 11 outdoor gardens, and the Gardens receive more than 1.4 million visitors every year from China and overseas.

The Garden grounds are well-signposted - head for the newly-opened visitor centre if you want to buy a cheap English brochure and map (as well as postcards and souvenirs). Located under the China Central Radio and Television Tower in Haidian District, Beijing Pacific Underwater World, also known as Taipingyang Andover Underwater World, is a wonderful exhibition hall sponsored by Singapore and China, covering a total area of over 8 acres (8,000 square meters). The design of the aquarium is based on the Caribbean pirate ship which gives visitors a real sense of being underneath the water. Altogether, the aquarium’s water content is approximately 5,232 cubic yards (4,000 cubic meters), containing hundreds of sea creatures from fierce sharks to beautiful reef fish. The aquarium uses a fresh water salinization system and a marine life self-maintenance system to ensure that the sea creatures are living under proper conditions.

Beijing Pacific Underwater WorldBeijing Pacific Underwater World consists of many different zones for visitors to have different experiences. You can know more about the endangered Humboldt Penguins, and watch the jellyfish drifting around. Enjoying the lovely view of divers swimming with the marine creatures along the undersea tunnel will give you a totally different experience. If you are lucky enough, you may encounter some beautiful mermaids dancing around.

Opened on May 31, 2014, Madame Tussauds Beijing is the fourth Madame Tussauds in China after the Madame Tussauds Wax Museums set in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Wuhan. It is the largest branch in Asia, whose exhibition hall and exhibitions are three times larger than those in Hong Kong.

This branch is located on Qianmen Street, which has a very long history and strong ‘Beijing flavors’. The opening of this museum adds western and modern elements to this street, making it more diversified and welcoming. The wax figures here were made by artists from Madame Tussauds London and are the actual sizes of their prototypes, who are elites from various sectors who have had a great influence in this city, the country, and even the world.

The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) is a comprehensive, not-for-profit art center serving a global Beijing public. 　　The Lama Temple is located at the northeast corner of Beijing City. It was originally used as official residence for court eunuchs of the Ming dynasty and was converted to the royal court of Prince Yongzheng during the 33rd year (1693) of Kangxi's reign of the Qing dynasty. In the 3rd year of Yongzheng's rein (1725), it was elevated to imperial palace for short stays away from the capital with the name changed to Yonghe Palace of Peace and Harmony. During the 9th year of EmperorQian Long's reign (1777), it was changed into Lama Temple.

The dimensions of the temple are magnificent, which have five courtyards in a row. The front structural layout in the temple is bright and spacious dotted with screen walls with carved murals, lifeless things and decorated archways. The interior pavement leading to the main halls and the evergreen pine and cypress appear to be rather peaceful and secluded in the environment. The back structural layout is composed of a cluster of building, halls and pavilions intermingled with each other, and upturned eaves and ridges beautifully interwoven presenting a picturesque sight.

Palace of the Heavenly King, Yonghe Palace, Eternal Blessing Hall, the Hall of the Wheel of the Law and Hall of boundless Happiness are the main structures. Amongst which the Hall of the Wheel of the Law is extremely imposing; the overall arrangement of its plane diagram forms a cross sign and there are five petty garrets on the ceiling decorated with small lama pagodas, which are characterized by the style of lamaism. The Hall of Boundless Happiness is the biggest building in the Lama Temple of Peace and Harmony flanked by the Hall of Everlasting Health and the Hall of Peace. They are connected by a corridor of the Suspension Hall, which form a cluster of majestic dignified buildings. In the Hall of the Boundless Happiness, stands a famous huge statue of Buddha, 26 meters high carved out of a whole piece of sandalwood; it is the biggest wood-carving Buddha in the world.
