Liyuan Theatre is a joint venture by Qianmenjianguo Hotel and Beijing Theatre in Oct. 1990, which is the first theatre in Beijing that presents tea ceremony. Located inside the hotel, it was listed as the best Night Show Theatre in Beijing for 7 years in a row. The theatre mainly consists three parts: Opera House; Exhibition Room and a Souvenir Shop. The Opera House covers two parts, a stage which is 8 meters tall, 12 meters long and 7 meters wide, as well as the 800 audience seats.
The same as walking around the Forbidden City and savoring the Peking Roast Duck, watching Peking Opera in Liyuan Theatre is an integral part for most tourists visiting Beijing. For the last decade, it staged more than 3,800 shows with millions of audiences including dignitaries from other countries. With its expertise in presenting Peking Opera in a special way, the Liyuan Theatre won great applause from visitors home and abroad. It is the first theatre that presents shows all year round with hundreds of audience in China.

Originally, the shows presented in the theatre were dancing and opera for visitors home and abroad in the middle and late 1980s. Later on, the Chaoyang Theatre stood out by performing acrobatics only. After over 20 years professional operation, it established a famous cultural brand which is “For watching Acrobatics, go to Chaoyang Theatre”. The Chaoyang Theatre is located in the middle of Eastern 3rd Ring Road which is the center of CBD in Beijing. Convenient transportation and culture-friendly atmosphere made it an important place for the nightlife in Beijing.
