About this place

Located under the China Central Radio and Television Tower in Haidian District, Beijing Pacific Underwater World, also known as Taipingyang Andover Underwater World, is a wonderful exhibition hall sponsored by Singapore and China, covering a total area of over 8 acres (8,000 square meters). The design of the aquarium is based on the Caribbean pirate ship which gives visitors a real sense of being underneath the water. Altogether, the aquarium’s water content is approximately 5,232 cubic yards (4,000 cubic meters), containing hundreds of sea creatures from fierce sharks to beautiful reef fish. The aquarium uses a fresh water salinization system and a marine life self-maintenance system to ensure that the sea creatures are living under proper conditions.
