Lan Yuan theatre and Kun opera
Lan Yuan theatre is located in the former Nanking Academy (Jiangning Fuxue) built between 1866-1870 in Qing dynasty. It is also part of the Chaotian Palace which nowadays houses the Nanjing Municipal museum with an impressive collection of 100,000 culture relics. It is also known as Wen temple, and used as a imperial venue to perform the rituals of ancestor veneration in Ming dynasty. Details please look for Chaotian Palace.
Kun opera theatre of Jiangsu province is an academy for research, creation and professional performance of Kun Opera, which has been listed in the UNESCO cultural inheritance. Here you can enjoy the performance of top Kun opera artists without any problem of understanding due to the real-time screen with English capitals. It is a great cultural experience that you simply cannot miss same as Flamenco in Andalusia and Fado in Lisboa.
I can combine this tour with Chaotian palace or upon other request.
