Tangshan caves of homo erectus

Tangshan is a town neighboring nanjing with abundant geometrical and geothermal resources. It is famous for its hot spring, however, not many people knows of its geometrical value.

In the northern slope of Tangshan, a group of karst caves were discovered. At present, two caves, Leigong Cave and Hulu Cave are open to the tourist to present the ancient mammal fossils as well as two skull of Nanjing Home erectus. The female skull is around 650,000 years old, while the male one is about 300,000 years old. This discovery has a great archeological value since it flashes forward the human history in Nanjing area about 200,000 years before.

In Hulu cave, you can find many interesting rock formations such as stalactites and stalagmites, columns and curtains.
