Tour Description

Tour Description

Panda Base, is one of the most successful of these institutes.

In the 1970s, zoologists began working with six pandas, which has now grown to a population of 39 located at the base. The environment here is exquisitely designed with luxurious stands of bamboo. This sanctuary is home, not only to giant panda, but red pandas, black-necked cranes, golden monkeys, and flocks of wild birds.

This half day tour also includes the Chengdu Giant Panda Museum. Built in 1992, it features popular exhibits in the appropriately named exhibition wings: Giant Panda Hall, Butterfly Hall and Vertebrate Hall. Giant Panda Hall is the first museum established for China's living national treasure and will provide you with a complete zoological record of the animal including fossil remains, ecological exhibits and history of the Chinese efforts to save this amazing animal.
