Tour Description
Day 01 Arrival at Beijing--- Temple of Heaven
On arrival in Beijing, you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Beijing. After a short a break at your hotel, visit the Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. Back to your hotel. Free for the rest of the day.
Temple of Heaven:
The Temple of Heaven is round in the north and square in the south, implying the traditional Chinese belief that there is a "round heaven and square earth". Two layers of surrounding walls divide the temple into the Inner Altar and the Outer Altar. The two altars, connected by a 360-metre-long raised walk called the Vermilion Steps Bridge, are arranged in a line forming a north-south axis 1,200 meters long.
Day 02 Beijing ( B L )--- Mutianyu Great Wall,Forbidden City,Tiananmen Square
After breakfast at your hotel, have an excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Mutianyu section of Great Wall is located in Huairou district, about 80 km north from downtown Beijing. The Mutianyu Great Wall is less crowded than Badaling Great Wall.
Mutianyu Great Wall:
Mutianyu Great Wall, is one of the most famous and best preserved sections of the Great Wall together with Badaling and Jinshanling sections. Located in the northeast of Beijing Municipality, Mutianyu is connected with the smaller hotspot sections of Jiankou in the west and Lianhuachi in the east. This section used to serve as the northern wall defending the capital city and the Imperial power, like a giant galloping dragon on mountain peak preserving the entrance to emperors' kingdom.
Lunch at a characteristic restaurant(1.5 hours).
After lunch, transferred to the downtown Beijing and visit the Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Then move on to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Back to your hotel.
Forbidden City:
Forbidden City is one of most popular tourism destination for the tourists from home and aboard, it is really a must see in Beijing, your Beijing trip is not complete without visiting it, the forbidden city a showcase for Chinese architecture and Chinese history. You can also learn a lot of the Chinese culture in it, how the emperor's life is like, what are the imperial court is like, everything there is so impressive, definitely you can't miss it.
Tiananmen Square:
Tiananmen Square -The biggest downtown Square of the world,where you can visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. It is the must place to visit in Beijing City.
Day 03 Beijing - free at your own leisure ( B )--- Hutong
After breakfast, start your morning tour with the visit to the Hutong, from hutongs, one can discover how Beijingers, in the course of centuries, advanced from vulgarity to refinement. In numerous hutongs are scattered residences of famous personnel, and these places are repositories. Laoshe, a well-known playwright is just one of them. Laoshe was born in a small lane, in the west part of the city. The memory of his childhood was so dear and impressive that after he'd been away from Beijing for more than 20 years, he still clearly remembered his birthplace, and he made it the backdrop of his novel "the Four Generations Under One Roof".
Hutong:
Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of the "hutong life". When urban construction threatens the existence of these hutongs, some Beijingers become worried. We trust that a "must see" hutong tour will greatly help you know more about Beijing history and culture. Then, transferred to Beijing airport for departure or free activity on your own.
